GOD Is A Woman

Recently, with so much controversy going round, I got the opportunity to listen to Arian Grandes' new song, GOD is a Woman. An interesting piece with basically many ideas behind it best known to Ariana Grande herself, but what caught my attention was the many negative and some positive feedback that she got from her song. Many a people, ignorant of the message, have criticised her for labelling God as a Woman and some, also being ignorant of the message within her song, have praised the idea God is a Woman citing what they call scripture from the Judeo-Christian world view. (not stating that the message within her song is of any moral value, neither are the images.)

From the content of Ariana Grandes' song, the title God is a woman, is nowhere close to her core message. In fact, it plays no role at all, Its more like a stage name to interest and impress the audience.

Not diving into making reviews for her song, lets check the positive and negative feedback and see what the Bible does say about God.

Exodus 3:14

And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

From the verse, both the negative and positive feedback that Ariana Grande got for her song have no basis within scripture. Moses asks God whom he shall tell the Israelites sent him and Gods' answer is clear and direct, I Am that I Am. In short God is whom God is and nothing can change that. Just like 1 + 1= 2 is absolute and cannot change no matter what someones view or approach to arithmetics is, so is God. Human beings change day by day and their view and characters also change but God remains the same, not bound or moved by and idea or thought or description or view that people may have.

So then, to those that are speaking against Ariana Grandes' song and them that are equally praising the song, not taking the message into consideration, your views and Arianas' song title cannot change the person of who God is. In the end Our ideas and views and thoughts will change and pass away but God will remain to be God forever, and indeed God has revealed The I Am in the person of Christ Colossians 1:15 - 17:

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
